Gilsey House: Floor Leveling

The contractor is now at work leveling the floors... we had a significant slope across the living room which is being corrected by the addition of finely calibrated strips of wood onto which the new plywood subfloor is placed.

Gilsey House: Demo Continues

Demolition goes fast - from one day to the next the space is transformed. Since we're removing everything - floors, walls and ceilings, the Gilsey House project is doubly satisfying.

We looked out of our window one day and saw what looked like smoke wafting out of the windows of the project... Happily it was just the fine dust that had settled over the last century above the plaster ceilings...
